Design & Life
Philosophy
I held a certain philisophy in my design process.
At M-Sign.nl, we create a tailored design for every challenge. Tailored, since it is suited for the challenge. A challenge, because designing is not solving problems but finishing challenges. We combine the strenghts of strategic product design with web- and graphic design: it’s not merely making nice designs, but giving meaning to designs. Designing is about connecting customers to the company. It is about relationships: design & life.
How designing is done
The M-Sign Design Funnel
At M-sign.nl, work is done following a certain logic in 4 design steps. This logic was developed through research and based on design methodology theory and The Design Funnel: A manifesto for meaningful design.

M-Sign.nl believes that three pillars are important in their strategic design process.
Designer Involvement
I, as designer, am involved in what you ask from me. I can think along your first concepts and ideas. I can help with brainstorming on target groups, building a vision or mission and functions for a website or flyer. Again, designing is not only making a good-looking picture or website. It’s about realizing a vision.
Client Involvement
Meeting you personnaly and involving you in the beginning of the design process is important to know what your preferences and business objectives are. It helps me understanding what is asked from me, and you understanding with what I can serve you, and what the objectives of the website are.
User Involvement
A design can be aesthetically pleasing, but if it is not suited to the needs of it’s user, it looses his strenght. Designs are always made for an audience. For a design process, this means that it is started with examing the user or target group, and eventually a finished design might be evaluated by the target group.
